STREET FOOTBALL WALES
‘The Beautiful Game’
Street Football Wales is a local charity that aims to improve the lives and opportunities for socially excluded people in Wales.
The charity uses football as a tool to tackle social exclusion. Teams are made up of players dealing with homelessness, substance misuse, mental ill health or cultural issues. Players may have been long term unemployed or involved in the criminal justice system; but all are facing daily barriers to be part of society and the communities in which they live. Here the beauty of football lies not in the skill of its players, but in its ability to unite, gifting players fun, friendship and a sense of belonging.
